Welcome to Matlockville!

Welcome to Matlockville!
I’m Michael Matlock, an experienced College Associate Professor and Corporate Executive with Sales, Marketing, Management and Oversight prowess. I retired as Vice President and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer from a Fortune 500 Company and currently serve as a Freelance Writer, Public Speaker, and Consultant. I am a graduate of Lincoln University, B.S. The Ohio State University M.A. and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, PhD.
My writings draw from a blend of acquired perspectives and impactful learnings accumulated through my lifetime. Born in 1953 and raised in Jackson, MS , my early years exposed me to the civil rights movement and subsequently captured a profound depiction of hardship ushering in opportunity. While too young to participate at the peak of the movement, I have benefited immensely from the advances and achievements of that period.
Through the content I share, I hope to convey a plethora of amazing experiences that are rooted in where I grew up, opportunities and challenges I’ve faced along the way, and the rewarding relationships I’ve built during my journey as a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Sibling, Uncle, Mentor and Son.
As an early retiree , I now spend my time golfing, gardening and now, distilling my years learnings and experiences into words and stories to share with you, the readers of Matlockville.
You never know where you’ll end up or what you’ll find in Matlockville... welcome to Town!
